Inspiring the future: Commitment to education

In a world where education is a key to unlocking opportunities, several Pathways Alliance member companies are proud to stand alongside Indspire, an Indigenous national charity dedicated to transforming lives through education.

Indspire’s vision is to enrich communities by enhancing Indigenous achievement and education. The potential of a single individual can ripple out to transform entire communities.

Cenovus Energy, ConocoPhillips, Imperial, Suncor Energy and Syncrude are sponsors of Indspire and through this partnership, industry is investing in the potential of Indigenous youth and empowering them to become leaders, innovators, and change-makers. By providing access to quality education and resources, it is helping them to unlock doors of opportunity that will reverberate for generations to come.

“We know that meaningful relationship-building is essential to the success of Indigenous learners, and our collaboration with the Pathways Alliance is a sign that we are committed to this important work,” said Mike DeGagné, President and CEO of Indspire. “We are encouraged by the many ways in which we have jointly been able to support First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students—and their communities— through this partnership.”

Indspire invests in students by supporting their education journey. In 2022-2023, Indspire awarded over $27.5 million in bursaries and scholarships to 7,522 First Nations, Inuit and Métis students, with health professions and business management/marketing and education the top areas of study.

But collaboration with Indspire isn’t just about providing financial support—it’s also about celebrating the richness of Indigenous cultures, and inspiring Indigenous students to achieve their highest potential.

Through various initiatives, and events, it fosters an environment where diverse voices are heard, and excellence and achievement are shared and recognized.

This shared commitment fosters growth, empowerment, and cultural preservation and has led to a powerful partnership that will not only change individual lives but also enrich the fabric of our society.
